The Federal Government of Nigeria announced on Wednesday the 28th of November the reduction of JAMB examination fee from ₦5,000 naira to ₦3, 500 .This was announced by the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu after the Federal Executive Council(FEC) meeting that was presided by Yemi Osinbajo the Vice President of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
These decision will take effect starting from JAMB 2019. This development is coming especially when the general election is supposed to take place next year February. Those to write JAMB next year and their concerned parents were happy about the reduction, some parents also expressed their displeasure at the sudden reduction as they believe that this was done by the present government in other for them to be favourites at the poll next year.
NECO another examination body that conducts Senior Secondary Certificate Examination SSCE exam fee has been reduced from ₦11, 350 to ₦9, 850. Another examination conducted by NECO wich is the Basic Education Certificate which use to go for ₦5, 500 now goes for ₦4,000. These are also to take effect starting from the next examinations that they are to conduct.
